Service Tax provisions have been changed significantly w.e.f. 1-7-2012. The Government wants to widen the tax base and to cover more and more persons in the service tax net. With the said object, the Government has levied service tax on service receiver. Hence, companies/persons making such payment are required to get the service tax number and have to pay the service tax and also have to file service tax returns. Assessee can claim such payment as a CENVAT credit.

LECTURE MEETING ON E-FILING OF SERVICE TAX RETURNS

Service Tax provisions have been changed significantly w.e.f. 1-7-2012. Now e-filing of Service Tax return is made compulsory. The format of the service tax return is also changed a lot. Members are facing a lot of difficulties in filing the service tax return.

 

We, as professional, have to update ourselves, and have to know the procedure for e-filing the service tax return. LECTURE MEETING ON SERVICE TAX PROPOSALS IN BUDGET 2013

The Finance Minister, while presenting Budget 2013, has proposed certain important proposals relating to service tax which may affect public at large. To encourage the defaulters to comply with the service tax provisions, he has introduced voluntary return filing scheme for non-filers. Moreover, there were many significant amendments in the last budget, which were clarified by the officers of service tax department during last one year.

 

We, as professionals, have to understand the proposed amendments, and the latest amendments to guide our clients. Meeting on Domestic Transfer Pricing

           

Friends, all of you must be aware that the provisions of Finance Act, 2012 include the provision of Domestic Transfer Pricing. Assessees entering into related parties transactions in excess of Rs. 500 lacs during F. Y. 2012-13 are required to keep the required documentations and are also required to get audit report under transfer pricing provisions. For last several years additions in Assessment in respect of International Transfer Pricing has increased many fold.
